2. When we have faith we are quiet. When we have doubts we talk. When we have nothing good to say, say nothing.
3. A confession of faith: 'No weapon will be formed against us that will prosper'. Weapons may be formed, but will not prosper.
4. David said, 'By God's grace I shall not die, but I will declare the works of the Lord.' What do we have to declare? How brave is our speech?
5. Battle hardened veterans rejoice in their victories. Battles are opportunities for God's glorious grace to be revealed.
6. Do we dare to trust God or are we puppets on a string?
7. Do we believe God chastises us? Will God test our works by fire?
8. A believers conduct after chastisement and trials by fire, 'I shall not die but, I will live and declare the works of the Lord'.
9. How can we grow if we refuse the test? if we refuse to finish the course? if we refuse to graduate? We want to study at our leisure-NO TEST!
10. Stop studying. Take the test. Graduate.
11. We know when a fruit tree is pruned it bears more fruit. Fiery trials brought by God refine us.
12. God has no equals.
13. For a toddler potty training has it's trials and eating oatmeal for the first time has it's trials. Modern thinkers explain trials away.
14. Man is God's glory.
15. The sight of God's hand in a trial is the end of man's rebellion. 'It is the Lord's hand. Let Him do what He seems is good.'
16. Many times we need correction.
17. Children do not understand while wisdom knows better.
18. An early memorable question (around age 25), 'Why can't I potty in my pants and eat oatmeal with my hands?'
19. 'As many as I love I rebuke and I chasten' says a loving parent who cares.
20. On the otherhand, a parent who does not care will say, 'Go ahead and smoke dope until your head turns into a chimney, I could care less.'
21. It is how we react to an action, a trial, that reveals us. Comfort under affliction is a good sign.
22. 'God is the Lord which has showed us light' He delivers us from darkness to light.
