Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast-Smoke

TOF #5-Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast-Smoke

Welcome to Episode #5 of Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast-Smoke. You have heard the saying, "Where there is smoke there is fire?" Both are in this message. A message for those who are going through trials in their life today, as well as, future trials you can look forward to in the future. Life is full of trials and battles. How we react will make us stronger and more insightful or bitter and withdrawn. The message deals with how our trials are created for us that fit like a well made suit-a perfect fit. Listen to the message to understand yourself and your trials.

It starts with a quote by David, who was familiar with trials and battles.
"I have become like a bottle in the smoke." David had a very personal relationship with God. He was a man after God's own heart.

Scripture Quoted within Episode #5
Psalm 119:83
I Samuel 17:12-51

The message was recorded in Dec 1985. It is full of insights to understanding and overcoming trials.

Lets think of them as 5 smooth stones skipping across the water. I would hope that you will take your iPod and listen to the message in some meadow as David might have done.

Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast

Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast-Episode 4-The Mind

Welcome to Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast-Episode 4-The Mind. It is an incredible message and a 'must to listen to' for those people who have a good mind, a half a mind, a double mind. Get ready to lose your mind! According to Pastor Paul if you have not lost your mind lately you have not lived.

This message is one of my absolute favorites! It was recorded on December 18, 1983. Pastor Paul delivers a spirit filled message. People listen and are on the edge of their seats at times silent.

Quoted Scriptures within Episode #4 The Mind:

Romans 12:2
Romans 8:39
II Corinthians 2:10
Psalm 51:6-7
Psalm 19:12-13
Luke 11:39
Mathew 23:27
Romans 7:15
Romans 8:1
I Corinthians 2:10

In 1983 in this message, Pastor Paul says, "The mind, the computer, the holder of our memory banks, the holder of our thoughts, the holder of our consciousness, a capacity of power".

Think about what that means today in 2007...Give our depths to God.

I am reading 'EINSTEIN His life and Universe by Walter Isaacson'. I want to remember that many intellectuals with endowed minds have one thing in common-their humanity. The difference between knowledge and wisdom is a renewed mind.

Read Proverbs 8:22-31 'Eternity of Wisdom'.

I hope you have a great week until next Friday, this has been your Hostess with the Mostest, Jeanine Arnopoulos reflecting on Pastor Paul's Message...lose your mind to renew it.

Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast-Episode 3-Un-Surrendered Self

Welcome to Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast-Episode 3-Un-Surrendered Self. This week's message Un-Surrendered Self speaks to everyone because we all suffer with self consumption.

Pastor Paul states, 'All problems are rooted in Un-Surrendered Self'...being consumed with yourself causes unnecessary harm. To lose yourself by dedicating yourself going beyond yourself is life's purpose.

The 6 D's-The Attitudes We Take Toward Ourselves
1. Deny Yourself-I don't count; putting on the breaks.
2. Decorate Yourself-Playing the part; mixing up your parts.
3. Deify Yourself-self made man; central & absolute.
4. Divide Yourself-Christian and Non-Christian.
5. Deceive Yourself-a form of religion denying the power thereof.
6. Dedicate Yourself-lose yourself to find yourself; a dedicated life gets 'cosmic' backing.

Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast- Episode 01-Friends Part 2

Welcome to Episode 01-Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast for June 3, 2007.
This Sunday's Episode 01 is 'Friends Part 2' a continuation of last week's Introductory Episode 00 'Friends'. This week's episode addresses 'Idolatry'. It comes in many forms and it stands in the way of a full relationship with God. Its root is in our corrupt nature starting with the fall of Adam. It is difficult for humanity to worship a 'Spiritual God'. We worship an idol because it appeals to our senses; tangible, visual, audible, touchable.

Listen to Pastor Paul's Message 'Friends Part 2' recorded Feb 8, 1987.

Quoted Scriptures within Episode 01:

Isaiah 2:22
Psalm 41:9
Isaiah 2:7-8
Isaiah 2:17-22

Pastor Paul's Message titled 'Friends Part 2'-originally recorded during his Disciples Ministry Church Mission service on Sunday February 8, 1987. Some points of the message include:
-'Turn away from man whose breath is in his nose, for of what is he to be accounted?
-The Lord breathed life into Adam and he became a living being. Since the fall man he is a very nonspiritual creature.
-Made of soul and soil. The bible says, 'My soul cleaves to the dust.'
-We all resemble Adam with a corrupt nature always craving for something tangible, visible, audible and touchable.
-We are not content with things that appeal to our spirit- never, therefore, it is hard to believe in a spiritual God'.
-So Jesus, God's Son, came in the flesh-Did we believe?
-Any god other than a 'Spiritual God' would be absurd.
20 Minutes
-The flesh and the spirit are at war.
-By our very nature we are idolaters.
-In favorable circumstances man will fly to his idols.
-To something we love more than God-basically SELF.
-We worship the work of our hands.
-We make our own wealth our chief confidence.
-We worship wealth-to be a friend to the poor, the widow, the homeless, the sick is not popular.
-We strive to be popular.
-Nations worship power-every nation is armed and trusting in brute strength.
-We love visible power idolizing muscle.
-We trust in cleverness.
-Some idols: self, property, our bellies, achievements, symbols, priests, friends, family, things...etc.
50 Minutes
-Man is a very feeble creature; he loves today and hates tomorrow; he is happy then he is sad; he is changed many times by his circumstance.
-As the chain is measured by its weakest link, so man's weakest link is in his breath.
-You cannot store up life; you only get one breath at a time.
-Our life all depends on a puff of air.
-The 'Trees' and 'Grass' will outlive us-we are a mere shadow.
-Do not put your trust in idols including men.
-Men can not handle praise. Many times it ruins them.
-Put your trust and faith in God who knows and understands your needs.
-Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3

Closing Question:
'What should be our relation to man?
Cease ye from man. Do not count too heavily on him. Recognize that the Grace of God is what's keeping that man going. Cease to idolize any man, woman, child, or thing. Put your trust in God who will never leave you or forsake you.
Remember this:
'All things are working together for good for them who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.'
