Welcome to Tongues of Fire-Pastor Paul's Podcast-Episode #22-Promise X.
Pastor Paul speaks about the Parable of the Sower taken from Mathew 13:1-9. The explanation of the parable is given in Mathew 13:18-21.
The analogy of the seed, the word of God, and the conditions of the ground, the heart receiving the word, describes many situations affecting the final yield of the fruit. When we read this parable we can gain insights into how and why these conditions take shape in our hearts and minds. At the end of the parable He asks, 'He who has ears let him hear.' Spiritual ears hear and understand.
Pastor Paul describes how we are quick to judge and he says, 'God does not judge like people do or there would be a waiting line to hell.' We are quick to judge by appearances. The Bible says that God is not a respecter of persons. He sees us differently than we see ourselves. He knows us completely, our mind and heart. He knows our needs. Most of the time we do not know our own needs. We make futile attempts to get satisfaction through our flesh. It is important for us to commune with God to receive His peace.
Christ said, 'I did not come into the world to judge it, but to save it.' Many times we look at people and judge God, or look at God and judge people. We should press forward to the high mark the calling in Christ and see Him only. Seek and know God for yourself having spiritual ears. 'Are you listening?', Pastor Paul asks.
You may hear the Lord say, 'Drop dead' to yourself, your mind, and your heart. Our faith must be renewed daily washed by the water of the word. It is important to read the Bible to commune with God and understand Him. By faith we should look at each day as a new beginning dying to old habits, negative thoughts and influences by renewing our mind. Pastor Paul uses the example of a 'noisy mind'. In the Bible the Lord says, 'Hush be still and know that I am God.' To receive His peace is to control and discipline our mind having the mind of Christ-forward thinking. It says in the bible, 'He resolutely set his face to go to Jerusalem.' His mind did not waver. He was resolute.
Jerusalem was His destiny. Our destiny is His Jerusalem.
